Transmission
Our transmission studies span from extra-high voltage (EHV) network design to long-term expansion planning, ensuring stability, reliability, and efficiency of Pakistan’s power grid. These projects include advanced system studies for 765 kV substations, integration of large hydropower and coal-based generation, cross-border interconnections, and deployment of modern technologies like HVDC and SVCs. Collectively, they strengthen the backbone of the national grid and support sustainable growth in energy demand.
Projects
- System Studies for 765 kV substations of Mansehra and Islamabad – West involving power flow, short circuit analysis, stability studies, EMT studies and Insulation Coordination Studies for sizing of substation equipment e.g. breakers, surge-arrester, and shunt reactors etc. The network involved in the studies included 765 kV circuits emanating from Dasu HPP, Mansehra and Islamabad-West also including 500 kV and 220 kV network of NTDC.
- Interconnection Study of 26 Big Hydropower Projects of total capacity of about 36000 MW on river Indus and its Tributaries in Northern Areas including Basha, Bunji, Dasu, Thakot, Yulbo, Tungas etc. with main National Grid of Pakistan as JV Partner with PB-Power, UK. Insulation Coordination Studies (EMTP) were also performed for proposed transmission alternatives of HVAC lines of 765 kV and 500 kV, and HVDC bipole of ±500 kV.
- Power System Expansion Plan for Pakistan till 2030 including generation planning, transmission planning and subtransmission planning (NPSEP).
- Long Term Electrical Network Expansion Plan (2016-2030) with Power System Studies for K-Electric, a utility covering entire city of Karachi and suburbs.
- Preparation of Regional Transmission Grid Plan and Interlinking Arrangements of Power Systems for Supply of Power to Gwadar Area under CPEC Package of Developments in Balochistan.
- Interconnection of Thar Coal fired thermal power plants (potential of 40,000 MW) with main National Grid of Pakistan as sub-consultant of SNC Lavalin, Canada involving HVAC transmission systems of 500 kV, 765 kV and HVDC bipole of ±600 kV.
- Feasibility Study of import of 1000 MW from Iran as sub-consultant of NESPAK involving HVAC transmission systems of 500 kV, 765 kV and HVDC bipole of ±600 kV.
- Harmonic Analysis and Measurement Studies for installation of SVCs at New-KLPT 220 kV, Lahore and Quetta Industrial 220 kV as a JV Partner with NESPAK and PSD, South Africa. Study was performed using PSCAD.
- Design Review and Supervision of Installation of -50/+450 MVAR SVC by ABB at New KLPT 220/132 kV Grid Station at Lahore as a JV Partner with NESPAK and PSD, South Africa. Performance of SVC was tested by performing studies on PSCAD and RTDS.
- Analytical evaluation of Transmission and Transformation. (T&T) Losses of EHV system of Pakistan under NGC (old NTDC).
Distribution
Our distribution studies focus on reducing technical and non-technical losses, modernizing networks, and ensuring efficient power delivery to end-users. From GIS mapping of feeders and reactive power compensation to SCADA integration, AMR metering, and load flow studies, these projects support utilities across Pakistan in improving reliability, efficiency, and transparency of their systems. Collectively, they provide actionable strategies for loss reduction and grid performance enhancement.

Hydropower Grid Interconnections:
Our hydropower interconnection studies ensure seamless integration of small to large-scale hydro projects into Pakistan’s national grid. Internal Network Analysis of Industrial Complexes:
Our internal network studies strengthen industrial power systems by ensuring safe, reliable, and optimized performance of plant networks. Using advanced ETAP-based load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and power quality analyses, we support large-scale cement plants and other industrial complexes. In addition, our expertise in bagasse and biomass cogeneration interconnections has enabled numerous sugar mills and industrial facilities across Pakistan to integrate captive and renewable-based power efficiently into both internal systems and the national grid.

Load Interconnection Studies
